1. Can I upgrade my existing LINK System? Yes, you can. The controller & console is all you need to replace. This literally will give you a new system with the Windows look and feel and new software without removing your existing LINK Control units and bus cabling. This provides maximum benefit with minimal expense. The bus cable is of high-quality coax (the same kind of coax that is used in our new system). The LINK Control (LC) units in your existing system are made of the highest quality if you purchased your system after 1998. Click here for upgrade details Upgrade.
2. Does the ‘Mobile' Link System load down my LAN? No. With an ‘ all hardware' system, your LAN is not used at all. We use our bus cable for real-time video, keyboard, mouse and LINK Express data.
No. The ‘ hardware/software' (Hybrid) LINK System uses the bus cable for the video in real-time (very high bandwidth requirement) and we use your LAN for keyboard, mouse and Link Express data (very low bandwidth requirement). We provide a software program for each computer.
Yes. With an ‘ all software' LINK System, we do use your LAN and it does require very significant bandwidth plus the image cannot be transmitted in real-time (no DVD, CD, etc).
3. Can DVD images be transmitted to the student monitors in real-time? Yes & No. With an ‘all hardware' or a ‘hardware/software' LINK System, the answer is Yes. With a 'software' only LINK System, the answer is No. 4. Is the 'Mobile' Console really mobile-can I walk around in the classroom? Yes. Both the hardware and hybrid systems are shipped with the 'wireless' equipment to allow the instructor to roam the classroom and control the LINK System! 5. How many computers can be connected to the LINK System? Unlimited. The practical limitation is limited by the size of classroom. We have connected (60) computers in one classroom where (30) to (40) computers is very common. With the ‘all software' LINK System, there is no physical limit except performance.
6. Is it difficult to Operate? it hard to Operate? No. Many of our customers tell us how easy our (1) button command selection, touch- screen, console is to operate. Training time can take as little as 5 minutes! 7. Will the LINK System decrease my training time? Yes, as much as 35%. Studies conducted by a few of our customers shared with us they could reduce the time to teach a given class or teach more in a given class by 30 to 35% using the LINK System . Teaching was easier and student comprehension was increased. 8. Do I need a projector system in addition to a LINK System? No. The LINK System can display any image from any source onto any student monitor--in real-time. This eliminates the disadvantages of a projector system (hard to see, etc) plus the savings can be used to purchase a superior system. 9. Is installation and training included with a LINK System? Optional. ACS will install your system for a fee. ACS ships an Installation & Operating Manual with every system. Complete installation instructions are part of the purchased system should you decide to install the LINK System yourself. Talk to sales for more details. 10. Does the LINK System have a Response System? Yes. The standard LINK system comes with a student response package that will allow the student to enter an answer to a question, call for help and view the instructor's image (with instructor permission).
