If I currently have another version of ScreenWatch. Will this version
be compatible? |
No.
ScreenWatch (Version 4.0) is an entirely new program. All older versions of ScreenWatch will need to be uninstalled before ScreenWatch (Version 4.0) can even be installed. |
| 2.
All the computers on the screen look the same, why can't I see their
names? |
You
can view the icons 3 different ways. Right-click on the ScreenWatch
desktop and choose View -> Large Icons to see the names, or View -> Thumbnail to see the names and a miniature screenshot. You can
also hold your mouse over an icon and see the name in a
tooltip. |
| 3.
Which component do I install on my students' computers? |
You
need to install the client and components. The manager is used to
monitor the client stations. |
| 4.
I have more than one manager. How can I make all the settings the
same? |
Copy
the Users, Groups and Config folders from one manager to any other manager you wish to
have the same settings. For Windows 9x/Me, these are located in the installation folder; for Windows NT/2K/XP these are located in the "Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\AppliedComputerSystems\ScreenWatch\" folder of your root drive.

| 5.
How do I check which version of ScreenWatch I have? |
Under
Settings tab open the About dialog. Both the manager and client
versions are listed on the screen. |
| 6.

same time? |
Yes. You can only recieve (view) 1 station at a time. You can however view all the stations in thumbnail view at the same time.

| 7.
How do I uninstall ScreenWatch? |
Look in the help under 'Getting Started', or you can request the uninstall instructions here. |
| 8.
I purchased ScreenWatch. When it starts, why does it say the software
is unregistered? |
By
default ScreenWatch installs as a 5 station demo. If you purchased
or wish to purchase ScreenWatch please contact a salesperson by
email.
Please include your name and serial number (SW300-...) from the registration dialog in any correspondance. |
| 9.
How do I find out what my serial number is? |
Under
the Settings tab click on Register. The serai number is listed on
the screen and begins with SW300. |

I installed Windows XP service pack 2 and now ScreenWatch won't work. What do i do? |
Monitor computers:
There are no setting needed to be modified.
Client computers:
In the Control Panel -> Windows Firewall select the Exceptions tab, click the Add Program button and browse to the ScreenWatch4.exe where it was installed to
add it to the list of exceptions (You do not need to add ScreenWatchClientForms.exe). Make sure it is checked in the exceptions list. Next select the advanced tab
for the Windows Firewall settings. In the ICMP section, click Settings. Check "Allow incoming echo requests". The client computers are now ready to use. (It may take up to 30 seconds for the client to appear online).
