At Applied Computer Systems, we provide outstanding customer service and consistently hear about it from our customers. Take a look at our uncensored and real testimonials below and learn more about our company.
We were lacking the ability to monitor our student(s) while on desktops. Teacher(s) would have to walk around the classroom to keep our student(s) on task. It was difficult for a teacher to tell whether a student was following along with class work or surfing the internet and visiting non-related school approved websites. With the implementation of SoftLINK our teacher(s) can now monitor all student workstations from their desktop. The content filtering has been awesome for us. The student(s) are definitely kept on task. Our teachers get a lot of use out of SoftLINK's other features also. I would say Applied Computer System's service and technical support would definitely be a 10+.
For instructional purposes, the training department at the nuclear facility wanted an alternative method of utilizing media and PowerPoint in the classroom and SoftLINK was the solution. Ameren's Callaway facility has approximately 35 instructors who are constantly faced with providing new and creative methods of presentation. Keeping students involved in the presentation and making sure they are at the same point as the instructor is key. With SoftLINK instructors can maintain control of student computers during presentations and ensure that students are on track. The added benefit of controlling the access to other software or websites while in class is invaluable. ACS is very helpful when dealing with questions and issues.
I'm always so impressed when I call or email ACS! I receive quick email replies. I get a live person when calling, and Todd has been a great support on the technology side. Not to mention, SoftLINK (Windows) and Assist (Mac) are great products - they are easy to use and configure and we have lots of options for managing our devices. For these reasons, we have selected to use SoftLINK and Assist for our school's computer management software.
We hosted our first SoftLINK training session for 2014 last week and everything went smoothly. Our students are all adults working in laboratories around the world, they just loved having the ability to see the instructor's screen on their desk next to the one they were working with. Huge benefit over have a projected instructor's screen in the front of the room.
ACS has great tech support and quick turn-around time. I'm always able to get a hold of Monica and she gets our product to us quickly. The professors really enjoy the "show" and "share" features in the classes. They also like the private chat for students who don't want to ask a question in front of the class. Testing screen is a winner too. I use the SoftLINK Tech console almost exclusively to update our labs either from my office or by going into a closed lab and running Tech console from a laptop. It makes my job go a lot quicker. I love the mass login feature and the remote commands feature. The inventory feature is invaluable. We have also used the SoftLINK Tech Console to catch 1 hacker! In addition, it saves us power. I can pull up the thumbnail of a lab in the late afternoon, see what machines are idle, and just quickly shut them down. I use the "mass copy" feature all the time. I also like the "screen lock" feature when I'm updating from remote and need to keep people off the machines. I couldn't imagine us getting all of our work orders done without the SoftLINK Tech Console. We love SoftLINK. I just deployed 3 new labs, and it was the first piece of software that I told my boss "I must have to get these labs knocked out quickly."
The LINK System is THE key piece of technology in our chemistry studio classrooms. Because of this system, every student has a front seat! The LINK System provides seamless, always-compatible, high frame rate video to each of our students, as well as student-teacher interaction and remote control. Images and data from a document camera, digital microscope, DVD, laptop, student computers, and other video sources can be displayed easily and controlled with a simple touch screen. Worth every penny!
We have used LINK Systems from Applied Computer Systems here at SUNY Oneonta for many years in several computer labs. They have had the desired effect of giving the instructor control of the student monitors, so the instructor can focus student attention where he or she wants it. The system is very intuitive to use and so, requires little to no training. These systems have been very dependable and for the few times we've needed it, ACS support has been very good. We are currently in the process of converting from the hardware based LINK systems to the ACS SoftLINK software based system and are having the same success with that.
It attests to the old adage, "build it, and they will come." We very much value it and it's an important part of our teaching in that lab. Several colleagues in our department use it. That lab is seen as real desirable, and has made many projects possible, besides our teaching. Don't know how we did without it. I'm thinking about putting some material about it up on my website, as I think it's really a cool set of tools for us. I remember your helpfulness and support, and have appreciated them very much.
The LINK System is excellent, I could not function without it, especially for the primary grades. The feature that benefits me the most is to be able to control each individual computer and also to be able to demonstrate procedures to the class on their individual computer. I use the system all the time to show students how to do different projects step by step. One of the biggest benefits is it is much quicker to be at the computer and help students with questions than to walk around and help students.
The LINK System is ergonomically beneficial to all the students, an exciting and fun delivery of content, eliminates “bad seat” conditions, and is beneficial to instructor’s time and amount of content to be delivered. The most useful features are transmit, testing, student view, and keyboard/mouse control. My overall experience with the LINK System and Applied Computer Systems, Inc. is wonderful.
We have found the LINK System set ups are very beneficial to our instructors. They no longer have to constantly walk around the classroom to look over student shoulders to see how they are progressing. Instructors can interact with students having issues and blank all the screens when they want their attention. The most valuable feature is the instructor’s ability to monitor dual screen audio/video. ACS has been very receptive to our requests and designed special capabilities for us when needed.
We were looking for a management tool to enhance instruction and to allow the monitoring of students as they work. We tried several network systems but found the intensive graphic requirements of the cad and 3D solid modeling software made the video response too slow.I saw the LINK System used at a local college, that was all it took. I knew I had to have it! The ability to focus each student on their own screen during direct instruction is invaluable. The ability to take control of the student station from the teacher station is important. If a student has a question there is no need to go to that station. If you would like to use that student’s screen for helping or instructing other students you can transmit that individual student’s screen to all the other student stations. We have used the LINK System since 1999. Applied Computer Systems is excellent. Their customer service is second to none! They are prompt, and courteous. If you call with a problem, they will do whatever it takes to solve that problem.
